Human Resource Development

Education plays a fundamental role in the economic development strategy. Even more so, because if we wish to meet the labour demand of already launched and newly started investment projects locally and respond to the prospective trends arising in a quality manner, the improvement of all levels of education will become indispensable.
  • The implementation of a new system and the creation of the related organisation for helping to plan career models and assisting in job orientation

The aim of the proposed development project is the creation of a flexible system to help plan career models and assist in job orientation; a system that lives up to the expectations of our modern age, is compatible with the new Vocational Training 4.0 model, and meets the labour market requirements by systemising the knowledge available within the urban area and the region and communicating the same bearing the information consumption habits of the target groups in mind.

  • Optimising the educational activities of public and higher educational centres and of their industrial partners through the creation of an artificial intelligence-based network of evenly distributed resources

The project is planned to deliver an improvement in both education technology and methodology to optimise the educational operations of evenly distributed resource-based and networked public and higher educational centres and their industrial partners by creating a knowledge share system that will monitor individual student progress at the same time.

The components to be implemented as part of the project:

    • Services for educators: a mobile classroom and corresponding knowledge sharing and knowledge marketing systems
    • Services for knowledge seekers: learning paths optimised for individual skills and abilities
    • Services for economic operators: efficient delivery of qualified workforce
  • Implementing and fine-tuning a blockchain technology-based, wide-scale training registration system

This project idea focuses on the creation of a training system independent of educational institutions. The graduates of the various levels of training programs will be able to register their completed programs in a shared registration system.

This nation-wide pilot project is highly valued by the city. Its objective is to set up a wide-scale training registration system in cooperation with the University of Pannonia that will be based on blockchain technology and record all the forms of training programs including adult and dual training programs as well. Similarly to Industry 4.0, this development will allow for the integration of the training units with the social and economic processes serving them and being served by them in a vast and intelligent information system.

Development plans for higher education in Zalaegerszeg

The programs detailed below aim to develop local higher education by bolstering its knowledge generating and knowledge sharing capabilities and by laying the grounds for producing a high-quality labour pool for the already started and upcoming major investments.

  • Upgrading the built infrastructure of the university already operating as a knowledge sharing and innovation hub so that it would meet industrial and social demand. Building up a service and training portfolio in foreign languages.
  • Completing projects to make MicroMasters courses available at the University Centre in Zalaegerszeg in the form of joint degree programs offered in cooperation with highly reputable foreign universities.

The adoption of the MicroMasters program will make it possible to expand our dual training programs all over Europe.

  • Making the necessary resources available for the Sectoral Training Centre (Engineering) and implementing further developments

Zalaegerszeg finds it incredibly important for the local university centres to investigate any potential points of contact with the new national research, development, and innovation strategy, and especially to promote corporate innovation and joint product development with companies. The city supports the development projects of the Dual Training Centre in Zalaegerszeg and of the University Centre of the University of Pannonia in Zalaegerszeg to be implemented with central budgetary funding and/or by tendering to create a shared innovative and educational ecosystem.

Institutional systems development

Although, seeing the projects already completed in the past years or in progress now, we can safely state that the institutions are being briskly developed, to create and further strengthen a solid economy and to meet the international requirements for newly launched flagship projects, the development of the educational institutions system is a constant and essential task.

  • Further renovation activities, procurement, training programs, and starting an international group in nursery schools
  • Further renovation activities, procurement, training programs, and starting an international group in crèches
  • Further renovation activities, procurement, and training programs in primary and secondary, grammar and vocational schools
  • Campus infrastructural development

Not only will infrastructural developments be implemented to support innovation and knowledge-based service activities in the Zalaegerszeg campus, but also to attract more students.

  • An investment project to enhance certain institutions of the Zalaegerszeg Vocational Training Centre to meet the requirements of the 21st century – the renovation of the Ábrahám Ganz Polytechnics
