Pursuant to Government Resolution no. 1314/2021. (V. 27.), and Government Resolution no. 1142/2022. (III. 10.) amending it, the utilities qualifying as the core infrastructure of the Northern Industrial Park may be developed and the utilities connections established.

  • The implementation of the further phases of the ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground Project

The implementation of the further phases of the ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground Project may be referred to as a high priority project due to its impact on economic development and prospective role as a direct catalyst for several other flagship projects in Zalaegerszeg.

Enterprise development projects

Within this branch of economic development, our aim, among other things, is to enhance the added value of domestically owned enterprises, to improve the supplier capabilities of domestically owned companies and to create urban business conditions capable of bolstering this knowledge-based and innovative environment. Cooperation between several related organisations will be instrumental in launching, shaping, and implementing these projects.

  • Drafting the document laying down the professional foundations of a Logistics Entrepreneurial Competence Centre to help enterprises, and establishing such competence centre based on the fundamental document

Bearing the immense logistics development of the region in mind, it is going to be important to establish an efficient and practice-oriented entrepreneurial competence centre to assist enterprises, which will even-handedly support local businesses seeking help.

  • A project to successfully manage generational change and to make Hungarian companies greener

Disseminating pertinent information by organising events and workshops.

  • Industrial Data Analytics Project

In terms of economic analyses, our intention is to map out the local industries with a special focus on the respective features of the various enterprises.

  • Supplier Base Development Program

Smaller companies will be encouraged to thrive to become suppliers to larger companies thereby strengthening the role of domestic companies in the supply chain.

  • Microcredit Program

The Microcredit Program is another way to support micro-, small, and medium-sized enterprises (up to HUF 10 m) by meeting their credit demand and ensuring that they can maintain their operation and realise further improvements. (ZMVA)

  • Launching the R&D Forum

The aim of the R&D Forum Project is to bring the industrial and educational operators closer to each other by the city’s involvement in mediation and participation in the initiatives.

It is important to highlight available alternatives and inform local enterprises through the right communication channels to ensure efficient information flow and support local businesses.

Tourism and services development

Targeted tourism development also bolsters the economic development of the region and significantly contributes to improving the citizens’ quality of life.

  • The Göcseji Museum and Mindszentyneum

The direct aim of this tourism development project is to preserve and modernise the building of the Göcseji Museum located in the historic city centre and to call to life an interactive and innovative exhibition harmonised with the needs of visitors of the 21st century.

  • “Skanzen” or the Göcseji Village Museum

The renewed village museum is planned to offer whole-day events to its visitors enriched with active and activating experiences at each homestead.

  • A new Sports and Recreational Centre in Alsóerdő

This investment is a perfect indication of the targeted developmental trajectory, offering thrilling free time activities to its visitors.

  • The construction of the new multifunctional Sports and Events Hall

The new project involves demolishing the old hall once the new hall is built, the concerted construction of the square and the parking lot serving the facility, the construction of another parking lot to accommodate several hundreds of vehicles, resurfacing the neighbouring roads, and constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Balatoni and Stadion Streets.

  • Residential Training Centre construction

With the expected increase in population numbers, our constantly expanding city will eventually call for the development of a residential training centre to host the operation of the highest number of sports clubs possible.

  • The renovation of the Art Cinema

Seeing that this is the largest auditorium in the city, the purpose was to convert this space into a modern, multifunctional event hall.

  • The construction of the new Swimming Pool, Instruction Pool, and City Lido

The building complex is undergoing a vast revival and expansion. In the scope of the Modern Cities Program a new indoor, 50 metre, 10 track swimming pool with grandstand seats and wellness and sauna services is currently under construction.

  • The construction of a Market for Local and Regional Handmade Goods

The primary aim of the project is to create a venue on Piac Square where goods can be sold and consumed. In the building for local products, a so called Göcsej Visitors’ Centre is planned to open its gates to tourists seeking information on how the local products are made and on the open farmhouses demonstrating traditional Göcsej peasant homesteading, and to recommend sights and attractions available in neighbouring villages in the form of an interactive exhibition.

  • Aquapark development

Visitors to the city recall the local Adventure Park as one of the most popular tourist destinations. The investment activities planned to be implemented as part of the AquaCity Developmental Project can further strengthen the touristic utilisation of the Adventure Park, whose economic boosting impact bears repeating.

  • Hosting for-profit weekend programs

The aim is to launch for-profit programs and services with an inherent pull factor in tourism that might rely on the Drone Competence Centre Flagship Project in future.

  • Four-star hotel construction in the inner city of Zalaegerszeg

The envisaged international four-star hotel is essentially a business style hotel with a modern conference centre that will also cater to the city’s business, cultural and social needs.
